The Sierra Nevada was declared a national park in 1992 and is the number 1 ski area in Spain. Both of the highest points on the Iberian peninsula, Mulhacén (3,482 m) and Veleta (3,392 m) offer all winter sports fans, whether beginner or expert, tons of skiing fun and gorgeous views. Andalusian cities such as Granada, Sevilla or Cordoba demonstrate a varied history. In particular the Moors, who ruled here for a long time, left traces in the form of the numerous alhambras.
