Pow(d)er Week: 06/12/08 – 13/12/08:
Last year’s success, with over 600 enthusiastic participants, demands an increase! From 06/12/08 – 13/12/08, the ultimate season-opening event will be taking place again, in Les 2 Alpes! Snow security to 3,600 m, amazingly broad slopes - almost empty at that time of year – on one of the best skiable glaciers in the world, and a unique snowpark sprawling over 240,000 m². Those are ideal conditions for a slamming season opening! Pow(d)er Week offers everything young skiers and boarders dream of: sports, fun, party and action!

The fast "Jandri Express" and the metro "Dôme Express" will lift you to the glacier (3,566 m) in just a few minutes. What a smashing view! Here the slopes divide: The experts surely will take Europe's most spectacular deep snow descent towards La Grave. "Normal" skiers have the choice between several red and blue slopes. The longest one has a total length of 17 km! Truly unique is the ski area for beginners. It is not, as usual, down in the valley, but "on top" at a height of nearly 3,600 m. This guarantees perfect snow conditions for the first turns at any time!
An absolute highlight is the Snowpark on the glacier which is 240,000 m² large and unique in Europe. It offers two half-pipes, a boarder-cross-track, severals jumps and other obstacles. It is not without reason that the "Mondial du Snowboard" is held here every year.
The 6-day lift pass "Les 2 Alpes" is also valid for 2 days in Alpe d'Huez (238 kms of pistes, ski bus 2 x week for a fee) as well as for 1 day in Serre-Chevalier (250 kms), La Voie Lactée (400 kms), Oz/Vaujany (50 kms) and Puy St. Vincent (67 kms). This means you can choose from more than 1,200 kms of pistes!
